A Day in the Life

Well, I'm finally doing it! I've been talking about making a blog for a long time and now here it is!
So what's the goal here? I'm a busy grad student in desperate need of a creative outlet! I also love social media, sharing, posting and have always had a creative knack for writing.
On my blog page you’ll see a monthly post or two about my crazy life, travels, running or exciting happenings around the city. If you share similar interest in hobbies such as traveling the country or internationally, running, fur babies, fitness and miscellaneous home interests, then we’re going to get along just fine!
You might consider this page an extension of my Instagram handle so feel free to peruse the content on my Instagram page then leave some love on both!
Can’t wait to network!

Some things never change...and some running recaps.

How on earth has it already been 6 months since my last post? SO much has happened since 2022 wrapped up and all good things might I add. Also, if you haven't tried taking a social media hiatus, at least temporarily from one platform or another, I really recommend it. I deactivated my FB earlier this year due to the annoying amount of time I spend scrolling so I just decided it was time for a break. It's all Insta, Blogger and Poshmark for me now. At least until I decide I miss FB which shouldn't be anytime soon ;) Having my breast implants removed has never been something I would talk about on my public page but since I’ve had the opportunity to talk to a few people about it I don’t mind blogging over it lol. I have felt all the positive difference in the world in my athletic performance and overall body health since having my plastic taken out. My skin cleared up and I haven’t had a single migraine since my surgery in November. I used to get the worst kind of debilit...

In My 2023 Era

I don't post anymore; we can start there.  ...Just kidding. I'm here and I didn't get to put a recap on 2023 before the stroke of midnight on 12/32/31. Oh well. Last year was QUITE the year and then some! What. A. Year! I feel like the entire year itself passed in a flash. I have a calendar on my desk at work and I feel like the months were being torn off faster than I could make notes and cross days off one by one. I'm starting to see in my old age that the phrase 'time is a thief' is all too true. I was a fast year, a hectic year, but one of the very best I've had so far. There were big challenges and some tears but I'm grateful for the lessons and trial by fire as they get me ready for 2024. Read on for all of my weekend word vomit... ____________________________________________________________________________________ Every year I make a -Goals- list and I had a pretty lengthy one at the start of 2023. Things like furthering my academics, getting some...

Easy until it isn't - Part 2

November brought about another challenge that had been at least eleven months in the making. If you Google BII (breast implant illness), you will see several articles and YouTube videos come up about women who are electively choosing to have their cosmetic breast implants removed. Remember those vision distortions I mentioned earlier that happened in Richmond? This along with migraines, were a new phenomenon I was experiencing ever since I had decided to get cosmetic surgery in February of 2019. I was having them at least twice a week and on a typical day of getting one, I could expect to be out of commission and unable to work from 20-30 minutes at a time until my vision would come back. Looking at my phone, computer, TV’s or monitor devices at work were absolutely out of the question and a few times while working on inpatient studies in the hospital, I would have to take a long break to go for a walk or just sit in the staircase with my head in my hands until I could see again. We ...
